Spring Batch

A Spring framework for jobs that process large volumes of records in bulk, such as end-of-day bank transactions, billing runs or nightly data imports. It reads, processes and writes in chunks, and can restart a failed job from where it stopped.

Think of it like

A factory night shift: work through the day's pile in fixed batches, and if the line stops, restart from the last finished batch instead of from the beginning.

Junior or senior?

Common in banking, insurance and telecom JDs.

Senior sounds like

Has sped up a job that was running too long, and designed how it restarts safely after failing halfway.

Ask them

“What was the biggest batch job you built, how long did it run, and what happened when it failed halfway?”

Reading Spring Batch on a resume

Common
Spring Batch narrows the field but doesn't prove depth on its own. The junior-versus-senior contrast above is what separates one candidate from another.
Around since 2008
Nobody can have more years of Spring Batch than it has existed. A job description asking for more was probably copied without checking — worth raising with the hiring manager.
