AWS Glue
Also written as AWS Glue Jobs, Glue ETL, Glue Data Catalog
Amazon's serverless service for preparing and moving data. It runs Apache Spark jobs without anyone managing servers, and its Data Catalog keeps track of what data exists in S3 so tools like Athena can query it. The AWS counterpart to Azure Data Factory.
Think of it like
A rented kitchen that appears when you need to cook a big batch and disappears when you're done, plus a pantry list of every ingredient you own.
Junior or senior?
Writing Glue jobs is really writing Spark, so look for Spark understanding underneath.
Senior sounds like
Talks about job cost, partitioning, and debugging failed or slow jobs.
Ask them
“What did a typical Glue job of yours do, and how did you work out why one was slow or expensive?”
