Classification vs Regression

The two everyday prediction shapes. Classification picks a category, such as spam or not spam. Regression predicts a number, such as next month's demand.
Think of it like
Sorting post into pigeonholes, versus estimating what the parcel weighs.
Junior or senior?
Tells you what a model actually did in one sentence.
Senior sounds like
Chose the framing deliberately and can explain why the problem wasn't the other one.
Ask them
“Was the model predicting a category or a number, and why was that the right shape for the problem?”
