DNS
Also written as Domain Name System, DNS Resolution
The system that translates human-readable domain names (like example.com) into the IP addresses computers actually use to find each other on a network.
Think of it like
Like a phone book that looks up someone's name and hands you their number.
Junior or senior?
Junior sounds like
Knows DNS 'points a domain somewhere.'
Senior sounds like
Can explain propagation delay and TTLs, and has debugged an outage that turned out to be a DNS change.
Ask them
“Have you ever debugged an outage that turned out to be a DNS issue? What was it?”
