HTTP/1.1 vs HTTP/2 vs HTTP/3
Also written as HTTP/2, HTTP/3, QUIC
Successive versions of the protocol browsers and servers use to talk to each other. HTTP/2 added multiplexing multiple requests over one connection; HTTP/3 (built on QUIC) further cuts connection setup delay, especially on unreliable networks.
Think of it like
HTTP/1.1 is one car per lane at a toll booth; HTTP/2 opens several lanes on the same road; HTTP/3 rebuilds the road to avoid the worst jams entirely.
Junior or senior?
Junior sounds like
Hasn't thought about it, which is usually fine since frameworks handle it.
Senior sounds like
Can say whether the version actually mattered for a real performance problem.
Ask them
“Has the HTTP version in use ever actually mattered for a performance issue you worked on?”
