LLD
Also written as Low-Level Design
The detailed, implementation-level design of a system — specific classes, interfaces, database schemas, and how individual components are actually built — filling in the detail an HLD leaves out.
Think of it like
Like the detailed wiring and plumbing diagrams that follow an architect's overview drawing — specific enough for an electrician to actually do the work.
Junior or senior?
Junior sounds like
Can describe a system's high-level design but stalls on the actual classes or schema underneath it.
Senior sounds like
Can take one component and walk through its low-level design in real detail.
Ask them
“Take one component from that system's high-level design and walk me through its low-level design — the actual classes or schema.”
