Precision and Recall
Also written as F1 Score, Confusion Matrix, False Positive
Two different ways of being right. Precision asks how many of the things the model flagged were real. Recall asks how many of the real things it caught. Improving one usually costs the other.
Think of it like
An airport screener who stops everyone catches every threat but delays thousands. One who stops nobody never delays anyone and catches nothing.
Junior or senior?
High signal, because it forces a business conversation rather than a technical one.
Senior sounds like
Can say which of the two mattered more for their product and why, instead of quoting overall accuracy.
Ask them
“For your model, was it worse to miss a real case or to raise a false alarm? How did that change what you built?”
