Service Discovery

Also written as Consul, Eureka, Service Registry

How services in a microservices system find each other's current addresses as instances start, stop and move. Consul and Netflix Eureka (common with Spring Cloud) do this; Kubernetes has it built in.

Think of it like

A live staff directory that updates when people change desks, instead of a printed phone list.

Junior or senior?

Eureka on a resume usually means Spring Cloud microservices.

Senior sounds like

Can say what happened when discovery itself failed.

Ask them

“How did your services find each other, and what happened when that broke?”
