Run a Structured Interview Debrief

When to use it

The prompt

Help me run a debrief for {{Candidate Name}}, a {{Job Title}} candidate. THE PANEL: {{names, roles, and which area each one assessed}} SCORECARD AREAS: {{the competencies you were assessing}} WHAT I KNOW SO FAR: {{any written feedback already submitted, and any disagreement you're aware of}} Give me a facilitation script covering: 1. How to open so that the most senior or most opinionated person in the room doesn't anchor everyone else. 2. The order to take evidence in, and how to ask for it so people cite what the candidate actually said or did. 3. What to say when someone gives an opinion with no evidence behind it, phrased so it doesn't put them on the defensive. 4. How to handle a genuine split, and how to tell the difference between a split about the evidence and a split about the bar. 5. How to close: what decision options are on the table, and who owns the call.

Tip

Collect written feedback before anyone speaks, and open with the most junior interviewer. Both are cheap, and both measurably reduce how much the loudest voice in the room decides the hire.

How to use it

Paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or whichever assistant you use, then replace every {{bracketed}} part with your own detail. The more specific and messier your input, the better the output — a model given raw notes has more to work with than one given a tidy summary you wrote first.
