Set Up an Interview Adjustment a Candidate Asked For

When to use it

The prompt

A candidate has asked for an adjustment to our interview process. Help me reply and set it up properly. ROLE: {{Job Title}} THE INTERVIEW STAGES: {{each stage, its format, length and any tools used}} WHAT THEY'VE ASKED FOR: {{in their words, e.g. extra time on the coding test, questions in writing, camera off, captions, a break between rounds}} WHAT WE CAN CHANGE EASILY: {{if known}} WHO NEEDS TO KNOW: {{interviewers, the coordinator, an assessment vendor}} Give me: 1. A short reply to the candidate confirming what we'll do, asking only what we need in order to set it up, and nothing about the reason for the request. 2. A stage-by-stage plan: what changes, who makes each change, and by when. 3. A note to the interviewers explaining what's different and how to score fairly with it, for example not marking down slower typing when extra time was agreed. 4. Any part of our process that's hard to adjust, with an alternative that still tests the same skill. 5. What to record, where, and who should be able to see it. Treat the request as routine. Don't ask for a diagnosis or medical proof unless our legal team requires it, and keep the details out of interview feedback.

Tip

Tell interviewers what changed and how it affects scoring, not why it was asked for. Most unfair outcomes come from an interviewer who didn't know the format was different and marked the candidate down for it.

How to use it

Paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or whichever assistant you use, then replace every {{bracketed}} part with your own detail. The more specific and messier your input, the better the output — a model given raw notes has more to work with than one given a tidy summary you wrote first.
