Personalized Outreach Message
When to use it
Write a first-touch message to a passive candidate that doesn't read like the nine others in their inbox.
The prompt
Write outreach to a passive candidate for a {{Job Title}} role at {{Company Name}}. ABOUT THE CANDIDATE: {{one or two real details from their profile — a specific project, a talk, a past company, something they built}} WHY THIS ROLE MIGHT GENUINELY INTEREST THEM: {{1-2 honest reasons — scope, stack, mission, team, comp}} WHAT WE CAN'T COMPETE ON: {{be honest — comp, brand, stability}} CHANNEL: {{LinkedIn InMail / email / a warm intro}} Give me: 1. A version under 75 words and a version under 150, so I can pick by channel. 2. A subject line for each. 3. A close that's a low-pressure question — not a calendar link, and not "are you open to a chat". Then critique your own draft: point at every sentence that would still be true if I were writing to a different person about a different job, and tell me what specific detail should replace it. Tone: direct and conversational. No exclamation points, no "I came across your profile", no "I was blown away by your background".
Tip
The candidate-specific detail carries the whole message. Run this with generic inputs and you get a generic message the recipient has already deleted ten times this month.
How to use it
Paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or whichever assistant you use, then replace every {{bracketed}} part with your own detail. The more specific and messier your input, the better the output — a model given raw notes has more to work with than one given a tidy summary you wrote first.
