Widgets & Live Activities
Also written as WidgetKit, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, Home Screen Widgets, App Widgets
Small pieces of an app that live outside it: home screen and lock screen widgets, and iOS Live Activities that show live updates (a delivery on its way, a match score) on the lock screen and Dynamic Island. Built with Apple's WidgetKit and, on Android, App Widgets or Jetpack Glance. They run under tight limits on how often they can refresh.
Think of it like
A shop's window sign that shows today's specials, so people get the key information without walking in.
Junior or senior?
A sign of recent, polished iOS or Android product work.
Senior sounds like
Can explain how they kept a widget or Live Activity up to date within the system's refresh limits.
Ask them
“How did you keep your widget or Live Activity up to date, given the limits on how often it can refresh?”
