A JavaScript library that made it easy to change web pages and talk to servers back when browsers behaved very differently. Modern browsers and frameworks like React have made it largely unnecessary, but it still runs a huge share of existing websites.

Junior or senior?
Common on resumes from 2008 to 2016 and in legacy maintenance roles. Fine as history, but a frontend resume where jQuery is the most modern tool is out of date for a React/Vue role.

“What have you built since jQuery, and how does working in a framework like React differ from how you used jQuery?”
