Retrofit / Alamofire
Also written as Retrofit, OkHttp, Alamofire, URLSession, Ktor Client
The standard libraries mobile apps use to talk to servers and APIs. On Android, Retrofit and OkHttp (both from Square) are the long-time defaults, with Ktor Client common in Kotlin Multiplatform; on iOS, Alamofire or Apple's built-in URLSession.
Think of it like
The app's phone line to the server: everyone has one, what matters is how well calls are handled when the signal drops.
Junior or senior?
Near-universal, so the library name says little.
Senior sounds like
Talks about retries, timeouts, caching and what the app does on a slow or flaky connection.
Ask them
“What does your app do when the network is slow or drops mid-request, and how did you test that?”

- Table-stakes
- Most people in this field list Retrofit / Alamofire, so its presence tells you little, and opening a screen with it can make the call sound junior. Ask what they built with it instead.
