Security
Red Team vs Blue Team
Also written as Red Team, Blue Team, Purple Team
The two sides of a security exercise. The red team attacks the organisation the way a real intruder would; the blue team defends, detects and responds. A purple team is the two working openly together rather than in secret.
Think of it like
A fire drill where one group genuinely tries to get into the building and another has to notice them.
Junior or senior?
Tells you which half of security someone actually did — finding weaknesses, or running detection.
Senior sounds like
Has worked both sides, or can say what the other side caught that they never expected.
Ask them
“Were you attacking or defending, and what did the other side catch that surprised you?”
