Nudge a Hiring Manager for Overdue Feedback

When to use it

The prompt

A hiring manager hasn't submitted feedback on {{Candidate Name}}, {{X days}} after the interview. WHY IT MATTERS NOW: {{a competing offer, the candidate going quiet, the rest of the loop stalled behind it}} HOW MANY TIMES I'VE ASKED: {{number, and on which channel}} THIS MANAGER'S PATTERN: {{always late, unusually late, first time}} WHAT I NEED AT MINIMUM: {{a yes or no on advancing, or the full scorecard}} Give me: 1. A nudge under 60 words built around one closed question they can answer from their phone. 2. The escalation version for three days later, stating the consequence plainly without threatening. 3. A line I can honestly send the candidate in the meantime that isn't "we're still gathering feedback". 4. If this is a pattern rather than a one-off, what to raise separately and when — not in this message. Friendly, specific, no guilt-tripping, no "just bumping this".

Tip

Ask something they can answer in ten seconds, like whether it's a yes or a no on a final round. Collect the written detail later; what you need now is the decision that unblocks the candidate.

How to use it

Paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or whichever assistant you use, then replace every {{bracketed}} part with your own detail. The more specific and messier your input, the better the output — a model given raw notes has more to work with than one given a tidy summary you wrote first.
