Agile
Also written as Agile methodology
An approach to building software in small, iterative chunks with frequent feedback, instead of planning the whole project upfront.
Think of it like
Like a road trip where you check the map every hour instead of planning the entire route before leaving the driveway.
Junior or senior?
Junior candidates say 'we used Agile.' Senior candidates can describe how their team adapted the process (what ceremonies they kept, dropped, or changed) and why.
Ask them
“What did your team actually do day-to-day that made it 'Agile,' versus just having a backlog?”
Sounds like real experience
Describes a specific ceremony or process change their team actually made — what they kept, dropped, or adapted, and why — not just naming Scrum or Kanban.
Probe further if
Says 'we used Agile' or 'we did Scrum' without describing a single specific practice, ceremony, or process decision their team actually made.
