WCAG

Also written as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1, WCAG 2.2, Section 508

The international standard for making websites usable by people with disabilities. Levels A, AA and AAA set how strict compliance is; AA is what most laws and contracts require. Section 508 is the US government's equivalent requirement.

Think of it like

The building code for ramps, lifts and signage, but for websites.

Junior or senior?

Increasingly required by law (the European Accessibility Act, ADA lawsuits in the US).

Senior sounds like

Has run an audit, fixed real issues, and tested with a screen reader.

Ask them

“Which WCAG level did you target, and what were the most common problems you had to fix?”
