Turn a JD Into a Social Media Job Post

When to use it

The prompt

Turn this job description into social posts for {{LinkedIn / X / a Slack community}}. {{Paste JD here}} WHO I WANT TO REACH: {{the specific person — their current role, and why they'd move}} WHAT'S GENUINELY DISTINCTIVE: {{the problem, the team, the stack, the constraint — the thing that isn't true of every other posting}} POSTING AS: {{me, the hiring manager, or the company account}} COMP DISCLOSURE: {{the range, or "not disclosing"}} Give me: 1. Three versions under 100 words: one leading with the problem, one with the team, one with the frustration this person has in their current role. 2. A first line for each that works as the preview, before anyone clicks to see more. 3. A version for the hiring manager to post in their own voice, which will outperform mine. 4. The call to action, and whether an apply link or a reply converts better here, with the reason. 5. What you deliberately left out of the JD, so I can check you didn't cut something load-bearing. No "We're hiring", no rocket emoji, no listing requirements.

Tip

Chase the hiring manager's version. The same words from an engineer's own account reach the people you want and read as an invitation rather than an advert.

How to use it

Paste the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or whichever assistant you use, then replace every {{bracketed}} part with your own detail. The more specific and messier your input, the better the output — a model given raw notes has more to work with than one given a tidy summary you wrote first.
