MVVM
Also written as Model-View-ViewModel
A pattern similar to MVC, but with a 'ViewModel' that holds the view's state and logic, and automatically keeps the visible UI in sync with it. Common in Android, iOS, WPF, and frameworks like Vue.
Think of it like
Like a dashboard's gauges (View) that move automatically whenever the underlying instrument readings (ViewModel) change, with nobody manually pushing the needle.
Junior or senior?
Junior sounds like
Isn't sure whether their framework was doing the View/ViewModel syncing for them.
Senior sounds like
Can say clearly whether a framework's data binding handled it, or whether they wired it up themselves.
Ask them
“What kept your View and ViewModel in sync — a framework's data binding, or code you wrote yourself?”
